Community Meeting with Rep. Cheryl Youakim (HD 46B)

When:  Monday, February 1, 2016 - 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Where:  St. Louis Park Library Meeting Room, 3240 Library Lane, St. Louis Park, MN

Representative Youakim is encouraging anyone interested in the legislative process to attend her Community Town Hall Meeting.  Come with questions, comments, or concerns.  This is a casual gathering where community members can come and go.  Hearing from you helps inform her decision-making at the Capitol.

We encourage you to attend your state lawmakers’ town hall meetings to let them know that you want them to vote for bills that protect wolves. Bills SF 592 and HF 1317 ban wolf trapping and baiting and prohibit wild animal snaring. Snaring often injures and kills dogs, wolves and lots of other birds and wildlife, especially pheasants. We are also working to repeal the wolf hunting and trapping season.

Gather November 7, Celebrate Progress toward Protecting Wolves

On what would have been the first day of Minnesota’s trophy wolf hunt, we will gather to cheer wolves still living this fall because there will not be a trophy hunt.  You are invited to join us at The Happy Gnome’s upstairs private room in St. Paul on November 7.  We will discuss the federal status of wolves, hear from our local state legislators who will work with us to end snaring, and end Minnesota’s wolf hunt.

Join us from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Happy Gnome’s upstairs room, 498 Selby Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55102.  Please RSVP to volunteer@howlingforwolves.org.  This way we can order the appropriate amount of food.  We have also requested some vegan options. There is no charge and all are encouraged to attend, even if you decide at the last minute.  Come enjoy the company of other wolf advocates!

State Fair Volunteers Meeting

When: August 25,  6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Hennepin County Library

This Tuesday evening we have meeting in a conference room at the library (Hennepin County Library) in Plymouth to go over what will be happening in the Howling for Wolves booth this year at the FAIR.  As we've mentioned before, instead of having people fill out paper slips, we're going to have them enter their information right into laptops that we'll have right in the booth.  It's simple and easy to do, but we just want to go over things before the booth actually opens.

We also plan to hand out tickets and the new T-shirts.

The Plymouth Library is located at 15700 36th Avenue North - link to directions is below:
