Outdoor Adventure Expo: Midwest Mountaineering Expo and University of Minnesota

When: Saturday November 23,  9:00 AM - 6:30 PM

The 57th Bi-Annual Midwest Mountaineering Fall Expo is scheduled for November 22-24 in Minneapolis. The long-respected outdoors enthusiast's extravaganza is packed full of three days of exhibits, informative presentations and the latest gear for the winter sports adventurer. This will be the third consecutive appearance for Howling For Wolves at Midwest Mountaineering's expos. Come out and join us and be sure to participate in the presentation, "Minnesota's Gray Wolves" by our very own Dr. Maureen Hackett at 11:45 AM.  Admission is free.

National Park Service Public Meeting on Isle Royale Wolves -Duluth Meeting

Isle Royale National Park meeting to discuss how to manage the island's dwindling population. Presentation starts at 3:30 pm, followed by an open house.
Eight wolves remain on the island, with possibly 2-3 pups born this summer. Lead researchers in the island's moose/wolf study advocate a genetic rescue in the face of the climate change. Read more here: http://pear.ly/b2zOb

Present Signatures to Governor's office

When: November 15, 10:30 AM
Where: MN State Capitol Building, St. Paul MN
Gather inside the Minnesota State Capitol between 10:30 and 10:45 AM on Friday November 15.  We will update this event soon.  We are waiting for a response from the Governor's office. We requested to meet with him to present the petition signers' names that we have gathered so far.  We ask that people come and stand outside the hall while the press speaks with us.  We will reserve a room too.

First Day of Minnesota Wolf Hunt Rally in Ely, MN

When:  November 9, 1:00 PM
Where: Whiteside Park on Sheridan Street, Transportation available

Rally and speakers' forum event. Details are still coming together. This event is organized by Lisa Fabish, professional dog breeder and owner of Black Wolf Kennels from Embarrass, MN.
In Ely, MN on Saturday Nov. 9, 2013 from 1 - 3 pm. Howling For Wolves with local resident Lisa Fabish will hold a rally to "Suspend Recreational Wolf hunting in MN." The rally will be at Whiteside Park in Ely, MN located on Sheridan street (the main street in Ely).  ). http://goo.gl/maps/4X9wu
It is extremely important that people come, rally and keep the spotlight on the cruel and senseless hunt with trapping and snaring scheduled to start soon. Take the time and effort and join Howling For Wolves.
The bus will board passengers at the Mall of America overflow parking lot: the large lot located across from the Mall of America on Lindau Lane.  LInk to parking lot map: http://goo.gl/maps/uF7b9   Exit 494 onto 24th Ave. and proceed to Lindau Lane and take a right.  Take the first right into the parking lot.
Boarding begins at 7:30 AM, bus leaves at 7:45 AM.  Bus will return between 8-9 PM.  
A fee to help cover cost the bus is $25.  Please contact Lisa at volunteer@howlingforwolves.org to reserve your spot by 5 pm on Nov. 7.

Howling For Wolves will be featured as the "Nonprofit of the Game". Tickets are just $20 each and all proceeds will go directly towards suspending the wolf hunt.

Twin Cities Veg Fest

When: October 26, 10 AM - 4 PM
Where: Coffman Union, Minneapolis Campus, University of Minnesota
Sponsored by Compassionate Action for Animals Organization: This is an opportunity for people to learn more about where their food comes from and how to be a healthy vegetarian or vegan and how compassionate eating benefits so many issues.  Admission is free and a free concert is scheduled along with exhibitors, guest speakers and food samples. Howling For Wolves will have a table and encourages supporters to stop by and learn more about us and the Veg factor.
