We encourage you to attend your state lawmakers’ town hall meetings to let them know that you want them to vote for bills that protect wolves. Bills SF 592 and HF 1317 ban wolf trapping and baiting and prohibit wild animal snaring. Snaring often injures and kills dogs, wolves and lots of other birds and wildlife, especially pheasants. We are also working to repeal the wolf hunting and trapping season.

School of Environmental Studies' Earth Day 2016 Presentation

Where:  School of Environmental Studies, Apple Valley, MN

The 21st year of the School of Environmental Studies' Earth Day celebration happens April 21.  This year's theme is "Our Time is Now!"  The focus is to empower youth to be environmentally active and become leaders in the community.  Earth Day at SES consists of an opening ceremony, several environmental related speakers with expertise in areas related to our Earth Day theme, and the students getting outside and giving back to the community by doing a variety of service projects.

Dr. Maureen Hackett will be speaking about what environmental steps Howling for Wolves has taken and what actions the young adults at the School of Environmental Studies can take as well.

MCTC Three Legged Frog Environmental Science Club's 12th Annual Sustainability Fair

Where:  Skyway outside the Minneapolis Community and Technical College, Minneapolis, MN

Howling For Wolves will have a table and spread the message about the grey wolf at the Minneapolis Community and Technical College's Three Legged Frog Environmental Science Club's 12th Annual Sustainability Fair.  This year's theme is Listen to the Earth!   The event has dozens of organizations tabling, handing out information, answering questions, providing petitions, and email sign up lists.

Mark your calendar and plan now to join us near the Capitol!

9:30 AM   Doors open, Cedar Street Armory
9:45 AM   Check in, must RSVP in advance, Cedar Street Armory
10:15 AM   Wolf Day 2016 kickoff, Cedar Street Armory
11:15 AM - 4:00 PM   Meetings with legislators, State Office building and new State Senate building
A shuttle will be available to transport people from the Armory building to the state office building for meetings.

Advanced Registration is now closed.  We encourage you to join us and we will work you in and get you a t-shirt if at all possible.  We welcome your presence.  Please come and stand for the wolf.

Parking is available at the Centennial ramp. See the complete Capitol parking ramp map here. We will also have a shuttle from Ramp F which will pick up beginning at 09:15 for transport to the Armory and make several trips through 10:15.

There will be a roundtrip bus from Duluth. Please call Lisa C. as soon as possible at 218-310-7642 to reserve a seat.  Leave a message and she will call you back between 5 - 7 PM

Box lunches and a beverage are available upon request from Cecil’s Deli at the cost of $10.50.  You may order a Pastrami, Corned Beef, Turkey, or Veggie sandwich.  Please order your lunch, indicating your sandwich preference, by Thursday, March 17, and bring a check payable to the "Cohen Volunteer Committee" on the day of the luncheon.

Otherwise, feel free to bring your own lunch.  Try to arrive early to allow time for parking and getting your lunch.  Although parking will be at a premium during session, there are two- and four-hour parking meters on either side of the streets north, southwest, and southeast of the Capitol building.  There is paid public parking available in Lot F and Lot Q and metered public parking is available in surface Lot AA on the corner of University Avenue and Rice Street.
