Dan Stark, large carnivore specialist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, said gray wolves sometimes show up in areas where they're not normally seen, even in Central and southern Minnesota.
"It's rare to see wolves anywhere in the state, but it's not uncommon for wolves to show up in unusual places," Stark said. "When wolves are in an area, it's good to be aware of what the potential is, but not to be alarmed about it," he said.
